July 2017 Fleet Awards
10-Aug-2017     Fleet News

July is traditionally a slow month for simming. But you couldn't tell by the activity on some of the sims this month. Task Force 23 especially had a lot of sims tying for awards because the numbers were so close.

Here in Theta Fleet we love ties. It means we get to give awards to more sims and that always makes us happy. Well done!

We also have some new sims to check out, too!

Fleet Awards for July 2017

Unit of Distinction
Task Force 23:
Gold: USS Yamato
Silver (tie): Starbase Vanguard & USS Erebus & USS Winchester
Bronze (tie): Starbase Typhon & USS Calypso & USS Pathfinder & USS Pegasus
Area 51:
Gold: USS Hera
Silver: USS Falchion
Bronze: SS Boreas

Writer of the Month
Task Force 23 (tie):
Calypso: Alexandra Alves, Lita Williams, Softtouch Jenner. The doctors who treated T’Pral have been very busy this month. All three worked together well and so I cannot name any one of them as being better than any other. So, I am nominating all three. They’ve done several posts and work well together.
Vanguard: Jenny - Jenny plays Chlamydia Addams, our chief medical officer. She has developed a character who is quite mysterious and unique in her own ways. She has started developing the 'family' story with such uniqueness that it shows how great she is at writing. When there is anything medical related, the terminology she uses and the descriptions are so good, it immerses me into any post she writes.
Area 51:
Hera (tie): Captain Enalia Telvan. (From the XO) Azmaria's characters are a joy to write with. I've JP'd with her PC (Captain Enalia Telvan), two of her three of her PNPCs, and a few of her mission specific NPCs. Each of them is easily distinguishable from the other, with each having their own completely unique personality, mannerisms, and other characteristics, even when, as in the post 'Dinner with the Telvans' she is playing three of her characters in the same post. This month, I particularly enjoyed writing the post 'Aye, There's the Rub', a post between my PC and Maica, the captain's holographic wife, as well as two other posts that will be posted in July, one between my NPC and Maica, and another between my NPC and the Captain. And Akira Zhuri. The flexibility and writing style employed by Monoui in both her main character Akira, as well as in her NPC Nexi, are exemplary and creates a true classic 'Trek' feel to any post she's in.

Player of the Month
Task Force 23 (tie):
Erebus: Fruit Loop for arriving on the Erebus with such vigour and proving to be an excellent player. Already impressing me with some great posts and character development ideas. She is also not afraid to offer technical assistance and graphics assistance for which I am very grateful both In Character and Out of Character.
Pegasus: Fruit Loop. Since Jan joined us a couple months back she has been eager to jump in and write with everyone. Jan is a personality all her own and is always inquisitive about the mission and is always gathering information to improve the joint posts. She is a pleasure to write with and a great asset to the Pegasus.
Ranger: Amy. Amy joined the sim and has eagerly jumped into every post and started several more. Her enthusiasm is refreshing.
Area 51 (tie):
Redemption: Amy, who plays Lieutenant Mikail Kolmak, the player behind the good Doctor has been an enjoyable and very happy addition to the crew. She is growing in her writing and stepping up with pushing the story along by taking the initiative to start JP's and push out posts. (This is the same Amy who is on the Ranger.)
Tokyo: Commander Alora Tau'ri for writing well with others, keeping others on their toes and in the loop, and not being afraid to tell the Captain to "sod off".

Post of the Month:
Task Force 23 (tie):
Yamato: The underpaid and unrespected. (http://yamato.rpgs-r.us/index.php/sim/viewpost/143)
Winchester: “New Beginnings” (http://winchester.rpgs-r.us/index.php/sim/viewpost/2)
Area 51:
Boreas: Name that Tune, Abbey and Dimitri are two of the more quiet characters on the Boreas and this just shows how Dimitri will be a good First Mate as everyone seems to get along with him. (http://boreas.sim-station.net/index.php ... ewpost/223)

TGCO Award of Merit
Task Force 23:
23-A: USS Calypso
23-B: USS Endeavour
23-C: USS Winchester
Area 51:
51-A: No Award
51-B: USS Hera
51-C: USS Galileo
