WRITER OF THE MONTH
Task Force 23: Artemis: Shep & Thunderbird: Linsey
Artemis: Ezra Van Wijnbergen - This month Ezra was not only the most prolific writer, they also elicited some of the most emotional responses from readers. As we forge into our next mission we learn that some of the victims of crime are youths. Our Victim Advocate Counselor not only has to counsel the victims and families but they have to get a handle on all this themselves. The tags and posts from Ezra are an amazing insight into the character and simply amazing to read.
Thunderbird: Lt. Trynn (now, Lt. Caitlyn MacRae) for some brilliant writing, both as an attempted murderess and undercover Maquis agent, and as the individual brought on board to capture her.
Area 51: Wolff: Stuart & Pioneer: Andrew & Valiant: Andrew
Wolff: Stuart - He brought in an Antican character. That tingles my Trek when people dig into one off obscure species. He also jumped in and started posts so everyone could meet Margarar.
Pioneer: Maren Malbrooke - This new character is still in the process of being introduced to the sim. However, the "origin" story alone is one that keeps a reader wanting more. The joint posts are of an exceptional caliber, and more to the point the other writers that have written with Maren state that they make their writing better. That is a compliment that everyone wants to get. The solo posts are gut wrenching and truly make you feel for the character.
Valiant: Nyx Caldor. Valiant’s take down time when and where they can find it, and Valiant’s new helmswoman hacks the ships comm’s feed to watch some sports, while possibly corrupting one of Valiant’s security contingent.
PLAYER OF THE MONTH
Task Force 23: Fenrir: Jamie
Fenrir: Mimi, for being welcoming to all new players, eager to hit them up for a post and generally being a brilliant player on the sim.
Area 51: Starbase 109: AJ & Herodotus: Cynthia
Starbase 109: AJ - Reason: AJ has stepped forward in a big way and after only a few months is assimilating into the sim at lightning speed with an impressive amount of activity.
Herodotus: Addison Talbert - I am a fan of the little details when reading posts. This month the Doctor approached the Captain to ask about relationships aboard the ship. On a normal vessel that would not matter, however, on a ship that does not exist on paper things like that do need to be looked out for. This is something that I did not think of and surprised me when the subject was breached. Well done!
POST OF THE MONTH
Task Force 23: Deep Space 5 & Sentinel Station
Deep Space 5: "The Appointed Hour" (https://deepspace5.harperhold.com/index.php/sim/viewpost/2153)
The misunderstandings between Vulcan logic and Human emotions are a long-standing part of Trek. But when the Vulcan is a counselor, it gets…complicated. Especially when the counselor wants to "help" and the human wants to be left alone.
Sentinel: "Under the Wire" (https://sentinel.harperhold.com/index.php/sim/viewpost/21)
Area 51: Astrea & Ontario
Astrea: Our Romulan team of writers have put together some amazing characters and showcase some really good writing in this post: "Lurking in the Dark" (https://astrea.harperhold.com/index.php/sim/viewpost/757)
Ontario: "The Amanda Rose Snatchers" (https://ontario.harperhold.com/index.php/sim/viewpost/427)
